PHILADELPHIA, Pa -- The Aztec track and field team continued competition today at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and began meet action at the UCI Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, California.

The Aztecs first competed in two field events, the long jump and shot put. Simone Johnson (18'10.00), Jenna Fee Feyerabend (18' 09.25), and Dejanae Thompson (18'08.75) earned seventh, eighth, and ninth respectively while Maya Gorman finished 23rd with a jump of 17' 09.00 (5.41m)

Felicia Crenshaw represented the Aztecs in the shot put, placing 19th with a heave of 42'05.50.

Competing in the 4x100 relay, the team of Jada Moore, Danae Dyer, Aisha Watt, and Shaquena Foote placed fifth overall out of 20 teams with a time of 45.18. Their performance automatically qualifies them to race in the 4x100 Championship of America finals on Saturday at 10:10 a.m. PT against the likes of Clemson, Penn, Duke, TCU, and Virginia.

As for the 100m hurdles, Danae Dyer and Charlize James competed, finishing 10th and 14th with times of 13.88 and 14.02.

The relay team of Sydney Bentley, Rhea Hoyte, Aisha Watt, and Shaquena Foote raced in the 4x400m relay, finishing with a time of 3:44.30 in 9th place, also qualifying to compete on Saturday in the4x400 Championship of America finals on Saturday at 12:45 p.m. PT.

Jenna Fee Feyerabend wrapped up the day of competition for the Aztecs in Philadelphia with the javelin throw. Her toss of 120-4 earned her a 13th place finish out of 26 throwers.

At the UCI Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Melanie Falkowski competed in the 5K, posting a 17:56.58 finish and earning 27th place. Falkowski's phenomenal 5K performance earned her a new personal best and improved her previous time by 30 seconds.

The Aztecs will continue competition at the Penn Relays with six events on Saturday (Apr. 29) while Alex Lomeli and Tatum Zinkin will compete in the 800m on Saturday at the UCI Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif. Live Results will be available for both meets online.
