COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State's Shaquena Foote was named Mountain West Track Athlete of the Week following her performance on the final day of the WSU Open and Combined Events meet in Spokane, Washington.
Shaquena Foote won the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.37, the seventh-best indoor time in SDSU history and among the top three times in the conference.
Also competing in the 60m, Shaquena Foote logged a third place finish with a time of 7.47, the fourth-fastest mark in the Mountain West this season and tying for the 10th best indoor time in school history.
The accolade is the first of Shaquena Foote's career as an Aztec.
Prior to competing at SDSU, Shaquena Foote attended Petersfield HS where she holds the school record in 400m, 800m, 1,500m, and 400m hurdles.
The Aztecs will be back in action at the UNM Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, NM from Feb 10-11.
