SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's tennis hosts crosstown foe UC San Diego on Saturday, as the Aztecs look to continue their momentum coming off of a gritty win against No. 40 Alabama in their home opener. The match is set to begin at noon PT at the Aztec Tennis Center.

San Diego State, who is 1-1 on the season, will take on the Tritons out of the Big West on Saturday, followed by matches against Rice and Hawai'i in the ensuing week to end their opening homestand of the season. Dating all the way back to 2010, the Aztecs as a team have never lost a match to the Tritons, and boast an overall record of 10-0. Out of the last 25 individual matches between the two schools (including doubles and singles matches), the Aztecs are 24-1.

SDSU will seek to build upon their dominant record versus a 2-2 UC San Diego squad this weekend. In their last bout, the Tritons fell to Alabama 1-6, whom the Aztecs defeated a day earlier 4-3. San Diego State's match against Alabama had a mixture of commanding victories as well as hard fought battles, highlighted by the top three singles players – No. 88 Andjela Skrobonja, Tamara Arnold, and Dariya Detkovskaya – hoisting impressive wins over their opponents. Each of their matches concluded within an hour, and Alicia Melosch sealed the contest with a clutch tiebreaker victory 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 on court four. The match was also head coach Peter Mattera's 400th career win on The Mesa.

Detkovskaya boasts a flawless record on the year in singles play, defeating No. 17 in the nation, Snow Han, of USC as well as last week's SEC Player of the Week Ola Pitak of Alabama.

The Aztecs will look to get hot on this home stint before heading off to Long Beach and Berkeley, where they will face tough opponents in Long Beach State and the No. 20 ranked California Golden Bears.

All matches will be streamed, and live results will be available throughout the match.
