ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. –  The Aztec track and field team finished third at the Mountain West Indoor Championships. Danae Dyer won the 60m hurdles for the second consecutive year, Ashley Callahan won the pole vault, and Jada Moore won the 60m dash.
 
The first Aztec to earn a podium spot was Jessica Kain with a third place finish in the mile run after running a 4:48.71.
 
Danae Dyer won her second consecutive title in the 60m hurdles. The senior ran 8.16 and won the event to take the Mountain West Indoor crown and maintain her spot as second best in SDSU Indoor history. The 8.16 time is a new PR for Dyer. Freshman Charlize James followed closely after, securing a second place finish with a time of 8.39, setting a new personal best.
 
Ashley Callahan took first in the pole vault with a jump of 13-08.05 (4.18m) making her the eighth Aztec in a row to win this event. Corey Friedenbach also competed and placed sixth with a jump of 12-04.75 (3.78m).
 
In the triple jump, Simone Johnson earned another spot on the podium for the Aztecs. Her mark of 44-00.75 (13.43m) earned her second place in the event, setting a new PR.


Sydney Bentley competed in the 400m finals at 54.84 to earn fifth place in the event and a new personal best.
 
Three Aztecs participated in the 60m dash with Jada Moore taking home first place, setting new personal record with a time of 7.30 and becoming the second best in SDSU indoor history. Shaquena Foote and Danae Dyer also ran, placing seventh (7.47) and eighth (7.56) respectively. Dyer's time gives her a new personal best.
 
As for shot put, Felicia Crenshaw and Thalia Wilson represented SDSU placing 12th and 15th respectively with throws of 43-02.25 (13.16m) and 42-04.75 (12.09m). Wilson's throw of 42-04.75 earns her a new PR.
 
In the 800m, Alex Lomeli finished sixth with a time of 2:12.31, her personal best time.
 
The 200m dash had two participants representing the Aztecs.  Jada Moore placed second in 23.52 (PR) while Shaquena Foote ran 24.12 to finish seventh.
 
SDSU capped off the meet running the 4x400 meter relay and secured a second-place finish. The team of Rhea Hoyte, Aisha Watt, Danae Dyer, and Sydney Bentley ran it in 3:40.05, which is the fifth-best time in school history.

The Aztecs turn their attention to the NCAA Indoor Championships (March 10-11 in Albuquerque, N.M.) and beginning of their Outdoor campaign (March 10 at the Ben Brown Invitational/Distance – Carnival in Fullerton, Calif.)
