SAN DIEGO – San Diego State women's tennis finishes a four-game homestand on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. PT against Hawai'i before traveling to Long Beach State on Saturday for a noon matchup with the Beach. Heading into this week's matches the Aztecs are 3-1 and are on a three-game winning streak.

After beating two of the three ranked opponents they have faced to begin the season, the Aztecs will wrap up their four match homestand against Hawai'i out of the Big West at 2 p.m. at the Aztec Tennis Center. The Rainbow Wahine are 2-4 to begin the 2023 dual season, having recently picked up a win over UC Riverside 7-0 to begin their Big West schedule. All-time the Aztecs are 11-4 against Hawai'i and most recently earned a 5-2 win on February 18th of last year.

As for Long Beach State, the Beach head into this week's match with a 2-0 record, having earned wins over UC Riverside and UC San Diego to begin the year. LBSU will play at Loyola Marymount ahead of Saturday's matchup in Long Beach. San Diego State has fared well against the Beach all-time, and the Aztecs lead the series 2-1, and most recently swept the Beach last season 4-0 on February 11th, 2022.

The Aztecs are a perfect 3-0 at home this season, having picked up wins over No. 40 Alabama, 4-3 on January 27, a convincing 7-0 win over UC San Diego, and then a 5-2 win over No. 54 Rice last time out. The win over the Crimson Tide was the Aztecs first and was also head coach Peter Mattera's 400th career win on The Mesa.

Heading into this week's matches, the Aztecs have three student-athletes ranked in the ITA singles rankings which were released on Wednesday. Dariya Detkovskaya headlines the SDSU athletes ranked, coming in at No. 81 in the country. She currently is 4-0 in singles play to start the season, including an impressive win over No. 26 in the county Snow Han of USC to begin the year. Skrobonja, who was ranked No. 88 in the country after a solid fall individually, remains ranked to begin the spring. She, like Arnold, is 3-1 in singles play, having played exclusively at the number one singles spot, to start the season and is also on a three-match win streak.
