SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's golf team is competing in the Stanford Intercollegiate this weekend. The 16-team field is loaded featuring 13 power five schools and 13 teams ranked in Golfstat's top 50, seven of which are in the top 20.

Schools competing include the host No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 Texas, No. 9 Virginia, No. 10 USC, No. 12 Arizona State, No. 16 Florida, No. 19 San Jose State, No. 28 Miami, No. 36 Baylor, No. 37 Georgia, No. 39 Iowa State, No. 44 Cal, No. 47 Northwestern, Denver, Oregon State and UC Davis.

Teams will play 18 holes each day. The Aztecs are paired with No. 1 Stanford and No. 9 Virginia and tee off at 12:55 p.m. Friday and 8:25 a.m. Saturday. On Sunday, there will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The Aztecs will use the same lineup as they have used in their two previous fall tournaments, although switching up the order: Bernice Olivarez Ilas (Ayala Alabang, Philipines), April Ranches (San Diego), Anika Sato (Utsunomiya, Japan), Anna Lina Otten (Neuss, Germany) and Sammy Lee (San Ramon, Calif.).

Olivarez Ilas has led the Aztecs in each of their tournaments this fall and is coming off a 10th place finish at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate in Denver where she shot a career-best 214 (69-72-73, -2).

Ranches is also coming off a career-best tournament where she finished tied for 25th with a 219 (73-75-71, +3). Her third round 71 matched her personal best 18-hole score.

Sato bounced back after a rough first tournament to shoot a 222 in Denver where recorded a 73 and 72 in her last two rounds.

Otten has started the last 18 tournaments for the Aztecs. She is averaging 75.8 strokes per 18 through her first two tournaments.

Lee shot a 228 in Denver which included a career-best 72 in her second round.

The Stanford Intercollegiate which is hosted by Condoleeza Rice is played at the Stanford Golf Course, which is par 71 and 6,269 yards. Located in the foothills above the Stanford campus, the course opened in 1930 and was renovated in 2008. It is flanked by oak trees and the San Francisquito Creek.

The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with moderate temperatures  and slight winds.
