RIVERSIDE, Calif. – San Diego State cross country finished sixth in the Highlander Invitational on Saturday morning at the UCR Ag Ops Course. Jessica Kain finished sixth overall in the race in 20:52.4 to lead the Aztecs.

SDSU started their final race in Riverside strongly and competed hard in the 6K to secure a sixth place finish.

Kain was the first Aztec to cross the finish line. The senior ran 20:52.4 to finish sixth overall out of 276 student-athletes who competed. Vanessa Cabello was the next Aztec to cross the tape. She came in 24th and posted a time of 20:57.2. Right behind her in 48th overall was Lauren Harper who finished the 6k course in 21:29.1, followed by Alex Lomeli who finished in 21:36.6 in 55th place overall.
 
The final Aztec who made up the scoring five for SDSU on Saturday was Amber Elias who finished in 21:39.1 in the 56th place overall.

Also running on Saturday were Maddy Parrone, Nicole Meyer, Bella Peretti, Zala Sekavcnik, Taylor Lustyan, and Tatum Zinkin who came in 59th, 69th, 76th, 113th, 140th, and 217th respectively. Parrone ran 21:41.0, Meyer finished 21:53.7, Peretti at 22:04.2, Sekavcnik at 22:55.5, Lustyan at 23:28.8 while Zinkin finished in 25:11. 

The Scarlet and Black finished with an overall team time of 1:46.34, the fastest total team time for SDSU on the 6K course.

Up Next: The Aztecs head to the Mountain West Conference Championship in Laramie, Wyoming on October 28.
