RENO, Nev. – The San Diego State men's golf team is in second place at the suspended Wolf Pack Classic Monday at the par-72, 7,302-yard Hidden Valley Country Club in Reno, Nevada. The Aztecs shot a 10-under 278 in the first round and were at 11-under before the second round was suspended due to darkness.
 
San Francisco completed both rounds and leads the 12-team event at 24-under 552, followed by SDSU (-21), San Diego (-19), New Mexico (-18) and a three-way tie for fifth at -13.
 
Sophomore Shea Lague (Jamul, Calif./Steele Canyon HS) was the only golfer in San Diego State's starting five to finish both rounds today and is tied for 11th out of the 72 golfers at 5-under 139. Lague had a 1-under 71 and a 4-under 68, birdieing the par-5, 515-yard first hole and the par-5, 598-yard seventh in both rounds.
 
Senior Youssef Guezzale (San Diego/La Jolla HS) is tied with Lague in 11th at 5-under after shooting a 4-under 68 in the first round and being at 1-under through 16 holes in the second round. Guezzale sank five birdies in the first round and has four in the second. He birdied the first in both rounds.
 
Freshman Dylan Oyama (Carlsbad, Calif./Pacific Ridge HS) is tied for 15th at 4-under with an even-par 72 in the first round and 4-under through 17 holes in the second round. Oyama holed out for eagle on the par-4, 460-yard 10th and had two birdies in the first round, but also four bogeys.  Oyama has five birdies so far in the second one against one bogey.
 
Sophomore Justin Hastings (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) fired a 5-under 67 in the first round with an eagle on the par-5, 560-yard 18th and five birdies, overcoming a double bogey on the par-3, 189-yard 16th. Hastings eagled the 18th again in the second round but is 2-over through 16 holes and is tied for 21st overall at 3-under.
 
Competing as an individual for the first time at San Diego State, sophomore Rugthai Thongsom (Surat Thani, Thailand) is tied for 30th at 1-under 143 following an 72 and 71.
 
Freshman Tyler Kowack (Del Mar, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) is 2-over with one hole left and tied for 41st. Kowack shot a 4-over 76 in the first round but is 2-under through 17 holes in the second round.
 
UNLV's Caden Fioroni (UNLV) is in first place at 11-under, while San Francisco's Benjamin Partridge (San Francisco) is a shot back.
 
SDSU will complete its second round beginning at 9 a.m. PT Tuesday and will follow immediately with the final round.
