Malibu, Calif. –San Diego State women's soccer fell 4-0 on Sunday afternoon against No. 14 Pepperdine at Tari Frahm Rokus Field. The Waves scored two goals in each half in the win.

After some initial pressure from the Aztecs (2-1-1) in the opening minutes, Tori Waldeck put Pepperdine (3-0-1) ahead in the 19th minute. The Waves took a free kick from just outside the box, and after the ball was initially cleared Waldeck pounced on the rebound and put it into the back of the net to give the Waves a 1-0 advantage. They would then double their lead in the 36th minute when Tatum Wynalda got on the end of a cross from Trinity Watson.  The Waves would take that 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

Pepperdine would tack on two more goals in the second half. After some buildup in the midfield the Waves broke the Aztecs press and Tabitha LaParl was in on goal, laid the ball back across the face of goal and then Carlee Giammona finished to give Pepperdine a 3-0 lead. The Waves would add a fourth in the 72nd minute courtesy of Taylor Booth to take a 4-0 lead.

The Aztecs also forced five saves from the Pepperdine keeper throughout the match. Claire Watkins had two shots saved on the day, including one that she took from the edge of the box that was curling into the bottom left corner of the net before the Waves keeper got her hands to it.
