COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- San Diego State men's golf seniors Zihao Jin (Beijing/Rancho Bernardo HS) and Puwit Anupansuebsai (Nakhon Phanom, Thailand) each were named to the 10-man all-Mountain West team, the league announced Thursday. Anupansuebsai is the first Aztec in program history to make four all-conference teams, while Jin earned his first MW accolade.

The duo helped SDSU capture two tournaments on the season, including the 2022 Mountain West Championship which clinched an automatic bid into the NCAA regional.

Jin leads San Diego State with a 71.71 stroke average across eight tournaments and 24 rounds. Jin has finished under par in 11 of his 24 rounds, including six rounds in the 60s. Jin, who birdied five of his final six holes in the final round at the MW Championship, has been the Aztecs' top finisher (or tied for the top finisher) in four of the eight tournaments he has played in this season.

Anupansuebsai, meanwhile, is second on the team with a 72.20 scoring average, playing in 10 tournaments and 30 rounds. Anupansuebsai, who was the MW Men's Golfer of the Year in the 2019-20 campaign and was the medalist at the 2021 MW Championship, also ranks second on the team in rounds below par (7) and is tied for third with Jin in rounds below par (11).

SDSU will compete in the 2022 Norman Regional, May 16-18, at the par-72, 7,452-yard Jimmy Austin OU Golf Club, in Norman, Oklahoma. The top-five squads and lowest individual not on those teams from the Norman Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, slated for May 27-June 1, at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona.
