NAPA, Calif. – The Aztec women's golf team completed their second round at Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif. Tuesday, moving up two spots. SDSU now sits tied for ninth place (out of 16) with one round to go. The Aztecs are tied with No. 6 Arizona State and ahead of four schools ranked in the top 50.
 
Anika Sato (T-25th) leads SDSU with a 149 through 36 holes, while three Aztecs are tied for 39th with a 151 including Esti Garcia Rubio, who shot a 71, the lowest 18-hole score in the freshman's career thus far.
 
Sato, Bernice Olivarez Ilas and Sara Kjellker all shot a 76 on Tuesday. Sato finished with two birdies and six bogeys, Olivarez Ilas had one birdies and five bogeys while Kjellker had three birdies and seven bogeys.
 
Garcia Rubio had five birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch, and four bogeys. She has shot a 72 or better in three of her last three rounds.
 
Anna Lina Otten shot an 83 Tuesday.
 
THE NOTE
Esti Garcia Rubio was one of seven golfers out of 89 to shoot a 71 or better Tuesday.
 
UP NEXT
The Aztecs will finish the Silverado Showdown Wednesday with their final 18 holes.
