PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Aztec women's golf team finished the PING/ASU Invitational at the Papago Golf Club Sunday by shooting their best score of the weekend. SDSU shot a 292 (+4) in their final round, the ninth best score of the day, and finished tied for 13th overall.
 
Freshman Anika Sato led the Aztecs, shooting a 71 (-1) on Sunday and a 221 (+5) for the weekend. This was Sato's sixth round under par on the year, which ties Sara Kjellker for the team lead. She had two birdies, 15 pars and just one bogey.
 
Her freshman sidekick, Esti Garcia Rubio, rebounded after shooting a 78 Saturday to shoot a 72 Sunday, her best 18-hole score of her young career. She finished with a 225 (+9), which ties her best 54-hole score.
 
Sara Kjellker shot a 74 (+2) Sunday, her lowest score of the weekend and finished with a 226 (+10). Kjellker finished with 41 pars, tied for the second most in the tournament.
 
Anna Lina Otten, who shot a team-best 72 (E) on Friday, ended the tournament with a 79 Sunday and finished 13-over-par.
 
Bernice Olivarez Ilas shot a 75 (+3) Sunday, her lowest score of the weekend.
 
THE NOTE
Freshman Esti Garcia Rubio's 72 was the lowest 18-hole score of her career.
