PHOENIX, ARIZ. – The Aztec women's golf team wrapped up the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational Friday at the Papago Golf Club. SDSU is tied for 11th place after 18 holes after shooting a 297 (+9). The Aztecs were led by Anna Lina Otten, who shot an even par 72, good for a tie for 18th place.
Otten tied for a team-high three birdies and had two in her first six holes. She had one bogey and one double bogey and parred the rest of the holes.
Sara Kjellker, Anika Sato and Esti Garcia Rubio all shot a 75 (+3), which put them in a tie for 45th. Sato Garcia Rubio both had birdies on their first two par fives of the day (hole 10 and 15). Kjellker didn't have a birdie but parred 15 holes, including her first eight.
Bernice Olivarez Ilas shot a 77 (+5). She was an even par through 11 holes but then had a five-hole stretch of four bogeys and one double-bogey.
