ATLANTA – San Diego State senior Klara Thormalm competed in the consolation final of the 100 breaststroke on Friday at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and earned a 15th place finish in the event.
Thormalm's 15th-place finish was in a time of 59.57 and earned the Aztecs two points in the team competition.
In the preliminary heat, the native of Vetlanda, Sweden touched the wall in 58.99, just .31 seconds off her school-record time of 58.68, which she achieved at last year's NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C. The swim earned her an 11th-place finish, securing a spot in the consolation final.
On Saturday, March 19, Valentina Lopez Arevalo, who is also competing at the Championships for San Diego State, will participate in the platform diving competition. Prelims for the day's events start at 10 a.m. ET with finals commencing at 6 p.m. ET.
