SAN DIEGO – San Diego State freshman diver Valentina Lopez Arevalo is in Atlanta, Ga., to compete in the platform diving competition at the 2022 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championship on Saturday, March 19.
Lopez Arevalo, a freshman who started diving for the Aztecs this semester, qualified to compete for a national championship in Atlanta off her result in the platform event at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz. The Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico native earned a ninth-place finish, after scoring 221.90 in the prelims and a 484.20 total in the event.
Preliminary rounds of the platform competition begin at 10 a.m. ET on Friday with the finals set to start at 6 p.m. ET.
The Championships will be streamed live on ESPN3 and links to that as well as results will be available on the swimming and diving schedule page at www.goaztecs.com.
