SAN DIEGO – San Diego State senior Ximena Lechuga Gonzalez has been named the Mountain West Conference's Diver of the Week covering all competitions during the past two weeks. The announcement was made from the conference office in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Tuesday morning.
 
In her lone competition, at the Lumberjack Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz., from Feb. 4-6, the Tijuana, Mexico native won two of the three events and finished third in the other.
 
She won the 1-meter competition with a season-high score of 305.15. It is the ninth time in her Aztec career that she has surpassed the 300-point plateau in the event and her ninth victory in a 1-meter event while competing for SDSU. 

In the 3-meter competition, her score of 352.05 was the best in the event and more than 18 points better than the next best score.
 
In the platform event, she was third with a score of 263.10, just shy of her season best of 265.05.
 
This is the seventh conference diver of the week honor Lechuga Gonzalez has earned in her collegiate career, her second of the season, and the third for an Aztec diver this year.
 
San Diego State begins its quest for the 2022 Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in College Station, Texas. The diving competition opens with the 1-meter event on Wednesday.
