SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State athletic department announced today that the Sourapas and Reyes families, co-owners of San Diego-based Crest Beverage, L.L.C., have committed a generous amount toward the Aztec Stadium project in Mission Valley. This outstanding commitment means that more than $40 million has now been pledged for the multi-use venue that is scheduled to open in fall of 2022.

"This generous commitment from two of San Diego's great families shows their passion for building community and their vision for the future," Director of Intercollegiate Athletics John David Wicker said. "A heartfelt thank you to the Sourapas and Reyes families for their support of San Diego State Athletics and the new Aztec Stadium, a project that will impact lives and serve as a hub of engagement in the heart of America's Finest City."

As part of this generous commitment, the Sourapas and Reyes families secure the first of only four Founders Suites in the new stadium. As Founders members, the group will receive tickets to every Aztec football game as well as concerts, championships, and a wide variety of world-class sports and entertainment experiences in the heart of San Diego.

"The Sourapas family has been proud members of the San Diego community for many generations," said Steven Sourapas, President of Crest Beverage. "Our contribution exemplifies the commitment we have to the future of San Diego, SDSU Mission Valley and the new Aztec Stadium."

The 35,000-seat multi-use stadium is part of the larger SDSU Mission Valley Campus Master Plan. SDSU Mission Valley will provide the University with the space to grow enrollment, expand research and innovation programs and add much needed housing for students, faculty, staff and the general community, including affordable housing. Finally, the plan creates a long-awaited regional community River Park.

"This meaningful investment in the future of SDSU will impact the lives of student-athletes and community members for many years to come," Senior Associate Athletic Director Tim Rice said. "Thank you to longtime Aztec supporter, Steve Sourapas, and the Reyes family for believing in this historic project."

Season ticket sales for Aztec Stadium launched last fall to current Aztec Club members and have thus far exceeded expectations. All Luxury Suites are sold out in addition to loge boxes in two of the five available areas.

Seating opportunities in the Founders Club, West, Field, and East Clubs are currently available to Aztec supporters before being released to the general public. To secure priority in the new stadium, fans can join the Aztec Club or become an Aztec Stadium Insider at https://aztecstadium.com.
