SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State swimming and diving team returns to action this week with two events. On Thursday the squad is in Malibu, Calif., to compete against the Pepperdine Waves in a dual meet and then on Friday and Saturday are in Fresno, Calif., to compete in the Chick-Fil-A Invitational.

When the Aztecs and Waves meet in Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool, San Diego State's 28 straight dual meet win streak will be on the line. The Aztecs have not lost a dual since a 153-147 defeat to Colorado State on Jan. 8, 2018, a span of 1,368 days. Since the 2016-17 campaign, San Diego State has defeated Pepperdine in ten straight dual meets, including five times in Malibu. The event is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.

Following Thursday's action, the squad heads to Fresno for the Chick-Fil-A Invitational, which includes teams from UCLA, California, Washington State, and San Jose State as well as the host Fresno State. San Diego State has finished in second place in each of the four times it competed in the six-team format (2016-2019) and won a scaled down version, with three teams in the event, last season.

The Chick-Fil-A Invitational will be contested over two days, Friday October 8 and Saturday, October 9. Friday's action opens at 11 a.m., with the 200 Medley Relay, and the day's second session begins at 6 p.m., with the 400 IM. Then on Saturday, the teams are scheduled to resume competition at 10 a.m., starting with the 400 Medley Relay.

At both events there will be no live scoring, but the meets will be streamed.
