Aztecs Wrap Up LBSU Throws/Jumps Fest

LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Aztec track and field team competed in four events at Long Beach State Saturday afternoon, earning one first place finish and recording two personal bests.
 
Kaitlin Heri won the pole vault, clearing 13-01.50 (4.00m), to notch her fifth win of the year. Elizabeth Funk came in fourth with a vault of 12-05.50 (3.80m).
 
Freshman Thaila Wilson placed third in the high jump with a personal best jump of 5-07.00 (1.70m). Jade Cany came in fourth (5-05.00).
 
Cany also took fourth in the triple jump with a new PR of 39-02.25 (11.94m).
 
Asia Smith placed third in the long jump with a season-best mark of 18-03.00.
 
UP NEXT
The Aztecs are off until the Mountain West Championships May 13-15.
