Football Moves Future Missouri Series

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego State football team and Missouri have agreed to move a future series, the two schools announced Wednesday.
 
The Aztecs and Tigers will now play 2027 in San Diego, 2028 in Columbia, 2033 in San Diego and 2034 in Columbia.
 
The 2027 meeting will be San Diego State's first against a team from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) at game time and now the Aztecs will play six games against a SEC team in a stretch of eight seasons. SDSU is 0-3 all-time against Missouri, including a 27-24 setback against the then rv/No. 25 Tigers in Columbia on Sept. 18, 2010 when they were a member of the Big 12 Conference. Missouri joined the SEC for the 2012 football season.
 
The Tigers went 5-5 last year with all 10 games against SEC teams. Missouri made the Music City Bowl, but the game with No. 15 ended up being canceled.  
 
San Diego State finished 4-4 last year with its four losses coming to teams that went a combined 29-6 (.829). The Aztecs are set to open its 2021 season against New Mexico State at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 4, although game times and television arrangements, including moves to non-Saturdays, will be announced at a later date.
