SAN DIEGO -- It was another big week for former Aztecs in professional sports.
Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) started for Team Kevin Durant in last Sunday's NBA All-Star Game. Leonard played a balanced game, totaling eight points, nine rebounds, eight assists and a steal in 20 minutes of play. Team Durant fell to Team Lebron James by a score of 170-150. Leonard also played for his team, the Los Angeles Clippers, last Thursday against Boston. He put up 22 points to go along wiht five rebounds and three assists. The Clippers are tied for the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.
Jalen McDaniels (2019-20), meanwhile, played in Charlotte's 135-102 win over Minnesota and his brother, Jaden, last Wednesday. McDaniels was on the floor for five minutes, putting up two points and a rebound. The Hornets are the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. Malachi Flynn (2020) is on the Toronto Raptors, who are the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.
On the PGA Tour, Xander Schauffele (2013-15) and Scott Piercy (1999-01) will compete in The PLAYERS Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., this weekend.
