Aztec Storylines

  • The San Diego State lacrosse team returns home after a two-game road stand to take on their first MPSF-foe of the season, UC Davis, Friday, March 5. The game will not count towards MPSF standings.

  • Opening draw for Friday's game is set for 1 p.m. PT. Live stats and streams will be available for the game and linked on GoAztecs.com.

  • San Diego State lacrosse's junior Courtney Robinson was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Week, the conference offices announced Monday evening. Robinson earned the offensive player of the week nod for the period ending Feb. 28. In the Aztecs' 12-11 win over the Golden Bears Sunday, Feb. 28, Robinson not only scored her first goal of 2021 but earned a hat trick for just the second time while donning the Scarlet and Black. She added a draw control and a ground ball to round out an impressive stat line in SDSU's second win over a Pac-12 foe this season.

  • The San Diego State lacrosse team came out on the right side of a battle in Berkeley, beating the California Golden Bears 12-11 in California Memorial Stadium Sunday, Feb. 28. Two different Aztecs earned hat tricks in the matinee game as junior Courtney Robinson and senior Bailey Brown each found the back of the net three times throughout the day. Senior Julia Sheehan and redshirt-senior Lexi Tan both added two scores to the Aztecs' total. Cailin Young scored twice in the game, highlighted by her goal with 3:15 left in the game to solidify the win for the Scarlet and Black. Freshman Brook Waddell led the team with four ground balls and senior Emily Resnick had three draw controls.

  • Bailey Brown had a remarkable game against the Golden Bears, as the senior from Katy, Texas not only scored a hat trick but was a cog in the SDSU defensive attack that held the Golden Bears to .305 shot percentage on the day. Her stat line included three caused turnovers, three draw controls, and two ground balls as the senior led the Aztecs to their second win over a Pac-12 foe this year. Her three caused turnovers are tied for the most in a single game by an MPSF team this season.

  • In conference team statistics (through games of Feb. 28, 2021), the Aztecs lead the conference in saves and saves per game (48 total, 12/game), led by redshirt-senior netminder Katy Sharretts. Her performance in Berkeley included 13 saves on 24 shots for a .542 save percentage.
