SAN DIEGO -- Many former Aztecs in the NFL closed out their 2020 seasons on Sunday.
Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill (2013-16) once again started at center for San Francisco, playing all 66 snaps on offense in their season finale against Seattle. After playing tackle last year, Brunskill played at both guard and center this season, starting all 16 games and playing over 99 percent of San Francisco's offensive snaps, tacking on seven percent of special teams snaps. Defensive end Alex Barrett (2013-16) made a tackle for San Francisco on Sunday. Barrett played 33 snaps on defense on the season and three on special teams across seven games, recording five tackles and two hits on opposing quarterbacks. Running back Rashaad Penny (2014-17) carried the ball six times for 19 yards (3.2 avg.) in Seattle's win over San Francisco. He was on the field for 28 snaps of Seattle's offense. Penny and the division champion Seahawks will start out the playoffs hosting the Los Angeles Rams. The game will kick off at 1:40 PT Saturday on Fox.
Rookie center Keith Ismael (2017-19) was on the field for four special teams snaps in Washington's primetime win over Philadelphia. With the win, the Football Team won the NFC East division with a record of 7-9. The Football Team will start the playoffs with a home Wild Card matchup against Tampa Bay, which will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET Saturday on NBC.
Long snapper Aaron Brewer (2008-11) appeared for eight special teams snaps for Arizona against the Rams on Sunday. Brewer finishes his season having appeared on 31 percent of Arizona's special teams snaps while playing in all 16 games this season, recovering a fumble. Tight end Kahale Warring (2016-18) played seven snaps on offense and eight on special teams as Houston lost a thriller to Tennessee, 41-38. Warring played in seven games this season for the Texans, catching three passes for 35 yards. Linebacker Calvin Munson (2013-16) made two tackles (one solo) for Miami last weekend, seeing action for 22 snaps on both defense and special teams. Munson played in all 16 games for the Dolphins, making nine tackles (six solo) and appearing on five percent of defensive snaps and 49 percent of special teams snaps. Rookie cornerback Luq Barcoo (2018-19) did not play for Jacksonville in Week 17. He finishes his rookie season with one start in three appearances, totaling 10 tackles (7 solo), including a tackle for loss, and a pass defended. Barcoo was on the field for 14 percent of the Jaguars' defensive snaps this season.
Safety Damontae Kazee (2013-16) finished the season on injured reserve for Atlanta. Before his injury, Kazee started the first four games of the season, racking up 20 tackles (17 solo) and forcing a fumble. Fullback Nick Bawden (2014-17) spent the year on injured reserve for Detroit.
In the NBA, Kawhi Leonard (2010-11) led the Los Angeles Clippers to a 2-1 record in the last week, returning from his face injury with a mask. Leonard averaged 21.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game last week. Malachi Flynn (2020), meanwhile, appeared in two games for Toronto, totaling an assist and a steal. Jalen McDaniels (2018-19) played in four games for Charlotte, putting up 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.3 steals per game.
The PGA Tour resumes from its break next weekend with the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawai'i. Xander Schauffele (2013-15) will compete in the event.
