1991 - Faulk's Record Day Leads Football Past Pacific, 55-34
Marshall Faulk had a record day in just three quarters of action in San Diego State's 55-34 win over Pacific. The freshman, who was third on the depth chart after fumbling twice in the opener against Long Beach State, rushed for 386 yards and seven touchdowns on 37 carries. His magical day includes NCAA single-game records in rushing yards, all-purpose yards (422), touchdowns vs. a major college opponent and points (44 with a 2-point conversion) vs. a major college opponent. The 386 rushing yards still rank fifth in NCAA history, while his 422 all-purpose yards are 14th (Rashaad Penny broke his school record with 429 vs. Nevada on Nov. 18, 2017). Faulk would finish with 1,586 rushing yards on the season and 4,589 for his career in just three years. Overall, Faulk's name appears 24 times in the NCAA record book. Faulk eventually would make both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.

2018 - Football Holds Off No. 23/25 Arizona State, 28-21
After turning in a suffocating defensive performance for much of the second half, San Diego State weathered some anxious moments in the waning moments of a 28-21 upset over No. 23/25 Arizona State at SDCCU Stadium. With the win, the Aztecs defeated the Sun Devils for the second year in a row, improving to 4-1 against Pac-12 Conference teams since the start of the 2016 season after Parker Baldwin batted down a Hail Mary pass at the goal line. SDSU shredded the nation's leading defense against the run, rushing for a 311 yards on 58 attempts after ASU entered the contest yielding just an average of 32.5 yards in its previous two games. Individually, Juwan Washington recorded a game-high 138 rushing yards on 27 carries with one touchdown, while Chase Jasmin added a career-best 112 yards on 19 attempts to go with one TD of his own, giving SDSU multiple 100-yard ground gainers for the  29th time in program history.

2017 - Football Rallies to Beat No. 19/19 Stanford, 20-17
Christian Chapman connected with David Wells on an 8-yard touchdown pass with 54 seconds remaining to lift San Diego State to a thrilling 20-17 come-from-behind victory over No. 19/19 Stanford in front of 43,040 fans at San Diego Stadium. Chapman led a balanced offense for the Aztecs, completing 21 of 29 passes for 187 yards with no interceptions and the aforementioned score, while Rashaad Penny rushed for 175 yards on a career-high 32 carries and one TD to help the Scarlet and Black secure its first win over a ranked opponent at home since a 27-25 triumph over No. 23 Air Force in 2010. SDSU drove 75 yards for the eventual game-winning touchdown in 11 plays, weathering a 22-minute delay due to a stadium power failure. The Aztecs quickly extinguished Stanford's final threat after the kickoff, as Kameron Kelly intercepted Kellen Chryst's first-down pass down the left sideline at the SDSU 37. SDSU would go onto finish the season with a 10-3 record, the program's third straight 10-win season.

The week of Sept. 14-20 has been kind to the San Diego State volleyball program over the years, with the Aztecs posting tournament sweeps during their non-conference schedule on 10 occasions in 1986, 1989, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2016.

After logging a perfect 5-0 record at its own Coors Collegiate Classic in 1986, San Diego State kept the momentum rolling the following week with a spotless 6-0 mark at the Fullerton Classic (Sept. 19-20), capturing 12 of 13 sets played in a dominating weekend. The Scarlet and Black opened the tournament with victories over Loyola Marymount (15-8, 15-11), Eastern Washington (15-2, 15-1) and Fresno State (15-5, 11-15, 15-7) before switching to overdrive on day two with sweeps of host Cal State Fullerton (15-3, 15-2), Southwest Texas State (15-2, 15-11) and a second one over LMU (15-12, 15-8).

With the performance, the Aztecs climbed two spots to No. 2 in the national rankings and extended their season-opening winning streak to 17 matches, which included an earlier four-set triumph over No. 3 Nebraska at the Oregon Mizuno Classic. SDSU's winning streak ultimately ballooned to 23 straight in 1986 before the Aztecs finished with a 37-9 overall record and a No. 5 national ranking.

Other tournament sweeps for San Diego State during the week of Sept. 14-20 include the 1989 San Diego County Championships (2-0), the 1992 Hofstra/ASICS Invitational (3-0), the 1993 Northern Arizona Classic (3-0), the 1994 WCC-WAC Challenge at LMU (2-0), the 1996 New Mexico Tournament (2-0), the 1999 Bull Invitational in Buffalo, New York (3-0), the 2000 Cornell Invitational (3-0), the 2005 Marine Midland Classic at Cleveland State (3-0) and the 2016 SDSU/USD California Mixer (3-0).

1990 - O'Grady's Hat Trick Pushes Women's Soccer Past Cal State San Bernardino, 4-2, in Overtime
In the 13th game in the history of the program, Suzie O'Grady put her name in the program's record book when she recorded the program's first hat trick in a 4-2 victory over Cal State San Bernardino. O'Grady did not see the field in the first half, which ended in a 0-0 tie, but after she was inserted early in the second frame. In the 55th minute, she scored to give SDSU a 1-0 lead. Cal State San Bernardino responded with two goals before the Aztecs tied it at 2-2 and sent it into overtime. In the 45-minute extra period, O'Grady scored just eight minutes in and put the game away with her second overtime goal later in the stanza. Her hat trick remains tied for the second most goals in a game for an Aztec and the six points she recorded are still the third most in a game in program history.

1993 - Women's Soccer Outlasts Pepperdine, 2-1, in Overtime
In a game that included three yellow cards and which a local media outlet described as "the two teams kicked, punched and threw elbows at each other," the Aztecs earned a 2-1 overtime victory over Pepperdine at AzTrack Soccer Field. Pepperdine took a 1-0 lead early in the second half, but Stacey Hoshimiya found the equalizer four minutes later. Then, 25 minutes into the overtime period, Hoshimiya set up Stephanie Stucker for what would end up being the game winner. While those official particulars are important, the most striking statistic was that Aztec keeper Tina Thompson set the program record with 13 saves in the match. It was a record she would hold alone for three years and two months, until Nov. 19, 1996 when her total was matched by Katherine Judkins in a match against Brigham Young.

2010 - Southwick's Record Game Gives Women's Soccer a 2-2 Tie at No. 18 Oregon State
When keeper Aubree Southwick and the 2010 Aztecs took the field against No. 18 Oregon State, it had been 17 years to the day since Tina Thompson set the school's record with 13 saves in a game against Pepperdine. By the end of 110 minutes of play against the Beavers, Southwick would break the record that Thompson set in 1993, and which was later matched in 1996 by Katherine Judkins. The new mark of 16 saves, which Southwick made against Oregon State, is still the standard by which all SDSU keepers are measured.
