SAN DIEGO – Following three straight wins by double digits to open the 2020-21 campaign, the San Diego State men's basketball team wraps up its season-opening, four-game homestand on Sunday with a matchup against the Pepperdine Waves. Tipoff at Viejas Arena is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

-San Diego State is 17-1 in its last 18 games played at Viejas Arena.
-The Aztecs have outscored their opponents this season, 233-157. The +25.3 scoring margin is tied for 30th nationally and is tied for 12th nationally among teams that have played at least three games.
-San Diego State's turnover margin of +9.3 ranks second nationally among teams that have played at least three times and ninth nationally overall.
-San Diego State win streaks on the line Sunday: 15-game win streak in non-conference regular-season games, 10-game win streak in non-conference home games, nine-game win streak against teams from California and a six-game win streak in games played in December.
-San Diego State saw a major jump in the AP poll, moving to No. 27 in the AP Top 25. The Aztecs spent the final 15 weeks in the poll last season, including the final 11 weeks in the top seven. SDSU climbed to No. 4 last season and ended the campaign ranked No. 6.
-San Diego State owns a 33-2 record since the start of the 2019-20 campaign. That is the second best record nationally, trailing only Gonzaga's 34-2 mark.
-Through Thursday's games, the Aztecs were ranked 15th in Strength of Record, 18th in Sagarin Ratings, 24th in RPI, 28th in BPI and 33rd in KenPom.
-The Aztecs rank among the national leaders in a number of categories, including 10th in scoring defense (52.3), 20th in three-point field goals per game (11.0), 21st in turnovers per game (9.7), 27th in turnovers forced per game (19.0) and 30th in scoring margin (+25.3).
-On Wednesday, San Diego State used a 39-2 first half run to cruise past St. Katherine, 83-41. The Aztecs played 15 players, including 10 that logged 14 or more minutes. Senior guard Jordan Schakel led four players in double figures with 16 points.
Senior guard Terrell Gomez recorded his best game as an Aztec with a season-high 13 points, three rebounds and two assists. He is averaging 10.3 points and has connected on 7-of-14 three-point field goal attempts (50.0 percent) this season.
Among all active Division I players, Gomez ranks eighth in points (1,668) and second in three-point field goals made (300). He is scheduled to play in his 100th career game Sunday.
-On Monday, senior forward Matt Mitchell earned the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honor. Mitchell averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals in the victories over No. 22 UCLA and UC Irvine.
