SAN DIEGO – Wrapping up a two-week break after splitting a pair of games in the opening weekend of the season, the No. 21 San Diego State water polo team stays close to home and will compete in the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego.

The Aztecs' first game of the Triton Invitational will be against No. 9 UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and then depending on the result, they will play either No. 7 UC San Diego or No. 24 Marist later that day (either at 4:30 or 5:50 p.m.). SDSU will play two games on Sunday with times and opponents to be determined by Saturday's results. There will be no streams this weekend and there will only be live stats if the Aztecs face UC San Diego.
 
• San Diego State has competed in the Triton Invitational in each of the last 25 years and overall has a 63-42 record.
• SDSU has twice run the table (4-0) in 2008 & 2009 and has finished with a record below .500 just twice, 1-4 in 2000 and 1- 3 in 2014.
• The Aztecs are 44-19 against UC Santa Barbara in the all-time series but have just one win in the last eight meetings.
• The Aztecs are 44-13 against UC San Diego in the all-time series but have dropped six of the last eight to the Tritons.
• The Aztecs are 7-2 against Marist in the all-time series with Marist's wins coming in the last two meetings.
• San Diego State is 1-1 on the season and have not competed since the Jan. 25 in the Beach Invitational.
• SDSU went 2-2 in last year's Triton Invitational and finished in 13th place.  They defeated Pomona Pitzer (6-5) and Cal State                   East Bay (10-3) but fell to No. 9 Arizona State (12-7) and No. 21 CSUN (7-3).
• Emily Bennett leads the team with four goals and four steals and in addition has assisted on four additional scores. 
• Maddie Higginson, Maddy Parenteau & Karli Canale have found the back to the net three times each.
• Isabelle Hastings has two goals and a team-high six assists, which is tied for second in the GCC.
• Three players (Zoe Morgan, Jordann Heimback & Grace Halliday) have seen action in goal this season.
• Morgan and Heimback have a team best 4 saves, with Morgan ­having played 32 minutes and Heimback playing 16 minutes in the first two games.
