ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Aztec track and field wrapped up the Don Kirby Elite Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center Friday afternoon.
 
Sonja Andenmatten paced the Aztecs in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:11.89, the sixth best time in SDSU's indoor history. Nyjari McNeil placed ninth with a time of 2:12.12.
 
Callista Fletcher finished 12th in the 60m dash prelims with a time of 7.65. Four Aztecs were late scratches.
 
The Aztecs made their season debut in the mile with three runners competing. Emily Burd, a transfer from Pitt, was the top Aztec finisher, coming in 28th (5:19.41). She was followed by freshmen Lauren Harper (33rd, 5:23.12) and Jessica Kain (42nd, 5:30.52).
 
In the shot put, Jordyn Bryant (43-00.25) and Erica Grotegeer (42-10.75) finished in 24th and 25th place. Felicia Crenshaw also competed, coming in 37th (38-07.50).
 
In total, five Aztecs were scratched: Alexus Alexander (60m dash), Danae Dyer (60m hurdles), Jalyn Harris (60m dash), Jada Moore (60m dash) and Tiana Osk Whitworth (60m dash).

The Aztecs return to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Mountain West Indoor Championships Feb. 27-29.
