David Wells is a Super Bowl Champion! Wells' Kansas City Chiefs defeated Daniel Brunskill, Alex Barrett and San Francisco last Sunday to win Super Bowl LIV.
Kawhi Leonard played three games for the Los Angeles Clippers, wins over Minnesota, his former team San Antonio and Miami. Following the game against Minnesota last Saturday, Leonard and his Clippers teammates flew down to America's Finest City for his Aztec jersey retirement. Leonard's No. 15 San Diego State jersey was hung in the rafters of Viejas Arena in an emotional ceremony at halftime of the fourth-ranked Aztecs' 80-68 win over Utah State. Across his three games, Leonard averaged 22.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.0 block per game. At 36-15, the Clippers have the second-best record in the Western Conference.
Two former Aztec golfers took part in the Waste Management Phoenix Open last weekend in Scottsdale, Ariz. Scott Piercy shot 13-under par, finishing tied for sixth place in the tournament. Xander Schauffele shot 10-under par and tied for 16th.
