SAN DIEGO – The Aztec women's basketball team (8-12, 3-5) plays at Wyoming (8-9, 4-4) at 5:30 p.m. PT Wednesday evening. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network and there will be an audio-only broadcast with Chris Ello on the call as well.

Aztec Tidbits
• With a 3-5 record in Mountain West play, the Aztecs are in seventh place. The top five teams receive a first-round bye at the Mountain West Tournament.
• The Aztecs lost a nail biter at Nevada 70-69 last Saturday afternoon, their third loss in a row. The Wolf Pack's Da'Ja Hamilton scored the game-winning bucket with three seconds left.
• SDSU shot 50 percent from the field and tied a season-high with 42 points in the paint.
• Taylor Kalmer led SDSU with 19 points while Sophia Ramos added 16 points and eight rebounds. Zayn Dornstauder chipped in 11 points.
• Taylor Kalmer is averaging 20 points per game over the last three games. Kalmer has scored in double-digits in 18 of SDSU's 20 games and in 14 straight.
• Zayn Dornstauder scored 11 points, her fourth straight game scoring in double-digits. She is now shooting 58.9 percent from the floor on the season, which would be the sixth best field goal percentage in a single-season in school history (min. 100 attempts).
• San Diego State is shooting 43.9 percent from the field in conference play, tops in the Mountain West.
• The Aztecs shooting percentage on the season of 41.4 percent would be the program's best since the 2013-14 season.
• As of Monday, Taylor Kalmer and Sophia Ramos are second and third in the nation in total minutes played.
• SDSU is top three in the conference in blocks per game, total rebounds, three-point percentage, and free throws made and attempted.
• 2020 commits Asia Avinger and Flera "Flo" Vinerte were nominated for the McDonald's All-American game.
 
Noting the Nevada Game (L, 69-70, 1-18-2020)
• There were 11 lead changes in the game.
• The Aztecs shot 50 percent from the field, their third time shooting 50 percent or better. SDSU is 1-2 in those games.
• SDSU now leads the Mountain West in field goal percentage in conference games.
• SDSU shot 10 percent better from the field than the Wolf Pack (.400)
• This was the Aztecs third straight game losing when having a better shooting percentage than their opponent. SDSU started the season 8-1 when outshooting their opponent.
• SDSU was 6-for-12 from three, their highest three-point shooting percentage on the year.
• The Aztecs shot better from the field (.500) and from three (.500) than they did from the free throw line (.467).
• SDSU has made just 13 of their last 29 free throw attempts.
• The Aztecs tied a season-high with 42 points in the paint. All 18 of their first quarter points were in the paint.
• Neither team had a block.
• Nevada committed just six turnovers, tied for the fewest by an Aztec opponent this season (Cal State Fullerton).
• This was Taylor Kalmer's 100th career game. She played her first 80 at Oregon State.
• Kalmer scored a team-high 19 points and is averaging 20 points per game over the last three games.
• Zayn Dornstauder has scored in double-digits in each of the last four games.
• Sophia Ramos had a team-high eight rebounds, her second consecutive game with eight boards.
 
Opponent Notebook (Wyoming)
• The Cowgirls are 8-9 on the year and 4-4 in conference.
• They went 25-9 last year and finished third in the conference with a 13-5 record.
• After losing to Boise State in the MW Championship game, they were selected to the WNIT where they won three games before losing to Arizona in the quarterfinals.
• Last week, they beat Nevada 83-59 at home and then lost 89-59 at Fresno State.
• They are 5-4 at home.
• They have lost four of their past five games.
• The Cowgirls turn the ball over 12.6 times per game, 22nd in the nation.
• Wyoming commits just 13.5 fouls per game, the fewest in the conference and 10th in the nation.
• They are second in the conference in three-point percentage (.331).
• Tereza Vitulova leads the team in scoring (13.1 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg). She had 28 points earlier this year at SDSU.
• Head coach Gerald Mattinson is in his first year as the head coach at Wyoming after spending the last 13 years as their associate head coach.
 
Series Notes
• Wyoming leads the all-time series 30-29.
• The last two meetings have gone to overtime with each team registering a win.
• SDSU is 7-19 all-time in Laramie.
• The Aztecs have lost four of the last six meetings.
• SDSU has won four straight at home but lost the last three in Laramie.
