SAN DIEGO – The San Diego State women's basketball team (6-9, 1-1) hosts Utah State (5-9, 0-3) Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. inside Viejas Arena. The game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network with Chris Ello will be on the mic.
 
Aztec Tidbits
• SDSU fell at Fresno State 79-54 Wednesday evening. Taylor Kalmer led SDSU with 14 points while Baylee Vanderdoes and Téa Adams each chipped in 11 points.
• Taylor Kalmer and Sophia Ramos both averaged at least 16 points in SDSU's six December games. Kalmer averaged 18.0 points per game and tied her career-high with 22 points twice. Ramos averaged 16.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists and set a new career-high with 30 points at California Baptist.
• Taylor Kalmer has scored in double-digits in 13 of SDSU's 15 games and in nine straight. Prior to coming to SDSU, she scored 10 or more points 11 times in 80 games while at Oregon State.
• Taylor Kalmer and Sophia Ramos are first and fourth in the nation in total minutes played.
• Sophia Ramos was named the Mountain West Player of the week December 23 after averaging 19.5 points in SDSU's two road wins. She set a new career-high with 30 points against California Baptist on 9-14 shooting. She became the first Aztec to score 30 points in nearly two years (McKynzie Fort) and was the first SDSU 30-point scorer to shoot 64 percent or better from the field since Paris Johnson did so at Hawai'i in 2008.
• SDSU is second in the Mountain West in blocks per game and third in total rebounds.
• The Aztecs are averaging just 14.0 personal fouls this season, the 19th best in the nation and second in the conference.
 
Noting the Fresno State Game (L, 54-79, 1-1-20)
• The Aztecs were outscored on points off turnovers 22-4 and tied a season-high with 21 turnovers.
• Fresno State had 15 steals, the most a SDSU opponent has had this season.
• The Bulldogs scored 43 points in the second half, the most the Aztecs have allowed in a second frame this season.
• The 25-point deficit was the second-worst loss of the season for SDSU (Cal, 26).
• The Bulldogs had 31 made field goals, tying a season-high for a SDSU opponent.
• Fresno State had 44 points in the paint, the most an Aztec opponent has had this season.
• SDSU scored seven points in the first quarter, the lowest in the opening quarter this season.
• The Bulldogs' Aly Gamez dished out seven assists, the most an individual has had against SDSU this season.
• The Aztecs had a season-low three assists and tied a season-low with two made three-pointers.
