The Aztec split went 1-1-0 last week in the Bay Area. After a tough 3-2 loss at No. 5 Stanford, SDSU rebounded to knock off Cal 1-0. The Aztecs allowed a season-high 27 shots but the SDSU defense and freshman goalkeeper Tetsuya Kadono (career-high eight saves) blanked the Golden Bears for the first shutout and first Pac-12 win of the season.
Aztec Storylines
• The Aztecs are home for their final two games of the 2019 season. On Friday they host Omaha for a non-conference match and then they will host UCLA for the season finale Nov. 16.
• SDSU's 1-0 win over Cal last Sunday was their first Pac-12 win and their first shutout of 2019.
• Sunday's win was the first SDSU has had when being outshot. Aztecs faced 27 Cal shots, a new season-high.
• Freshman goalkeeper Tetsuya Kadono recorded his first career shutout and collected a career-best eight saves at Cal in his fourth career start.
• SDSU goalkeepers have combined to lead the Pac-12 with 3.8 saves per game.
• Pelaez in second in the Pac-12 with 3.0 shots per game. He is also fifth in the conference with 1.2 shots on goal per game.
• Pelaez is tied with Tevenn Roux for the team lead in assists with four.
• Freshman Hunter George has a team-high five goals. This is the most by an Aztec freshman since David Olsen scored seven in 2014.
• The Aztecs have four players with at least 10 points (Pelaez, Roux and George).
• Pablo Pelaez and Adam Vargas are the only players who have started all 16 matches. They are also top two on the team in minutes played.
• The other Aztecs who have appeared in all 16 matches are Laukoa Santos, Tristan Weber and Tevenn Roux.
• SDSU is averaging 5.94 corner kicks per game, 40th in the nation.
• Pablo Pelaez was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Oct. 1 after scoring a goal and recording an assist in SDSU's 2-0 win at Brown.
• The Pac-12 has the second-best record in non-conference play in the nation, trailing only the ACC. Washington is currently ranked No.12 in the country and Stanford is No. 5. Five of the six Pac-12 teams are ranked in the top 70 of RPI.
• Former Aztec goalkeeper Tally Hall (2003-06) was inducted into the Aztec Hall of Fame on October 11. A two-time All-American, Hall led the nation with an 88.9 save percentage and ranked second with a 0.49 goals allowed average in 2005. He also recorded 12 shutouts that season; all are single-season school records. After SDSU, he enjoyed a 10-year professional career, including eight seasons with the Houston Dynamo of MLS and was a two-time MLS All-Star.
• Pablo Pelaez was named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference Team. The redshirt senior led the Aztecs in points (15) and goals (six) last season and tied for the team lead with three assists.
• The Aztecs return eight starters from a season ago.
• SDSU has 11 seniors on their roster after only having four in 2018.
• The Aztecs have the No. 10 2019 recruiting class in the country according to Top Drawer Soccer. SDSU has nine newcomers (eight freshmen and one transfer).

Omaha is 3-8-3 on the year and 2-2-1in the Summit League... They are 1-5-1 on the road... Friday's match is their regular season finale before then begin the Summit League Tournament... They have scored 11 goals and given up 22... They are being outscored 12-5 in the second half... Aaron Uribe leads the team with seven points... Andreas Hermansson, Diego Gutierrez and Vlad Jokic all are tied for second with four points each... Goalkeeper Jeremy Pollard has a goals allowed average of 1.22, second in the Summit League... Head Coach Bob Warming is in his second year at Omaha. In his 41 years, he was won two National Coach of the Year Awards and is second among active DI coaches in wins... He has made previous stops at Penn State, Creighton, Saint Louis, Old Dominion, Charlotte, Berry College and Transylvania... He is one of two active coaches to take two different programs to the NCAA College Cup... This will be the second meeting between the programs. SDSU beat Omaha 3-2 Sept. 14, 2012 in the opening game of the Courtyard Marriott Central San Diego Tournament.
