SAN DIEGO – San Diego State's swimming and diving team treks to Columbia, Mo. to compete in the Mizzou Invitational Wednesday Nov. 20 through Friday Nov. 22. The Aztecs take on 10 teams from around the nation at the three-day event.
The Aztecs first participate in the Olympic Trials long course qualifier Tuesday, Nov. 19, looking to secure times that qualify swimmers from the Scarlet and Black to compete in the Olympic Trials June 21-28 in Omaha, Neb.
SDSU then competes in the Mizzou Invite, running Wednesday through Friday with preliminary heats set to start at 10 a.m. CT and finals scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. The Aztecs' swimmers compete against host Mizzou, the University of Arkansas, Boise State University, Brigham Young University, Drury University, the University of Nebraska, Oklahoma Baptist University, Truman State University, and the University of Wyoming at the event. SDSU's divers are not making the trip to Missouri.
San Diego State comes off a dominating performance at their home opener Friday, Oct. 18, where they secured nine event titles throughout the double-dual meet and topped both Boise State and Pepperdine. Klara Thormalm swept the breaststroke events for the second-straight meet while senior Courtney Vincent finished first in the 100 butterfly, second in the 100 backstroke, and aided the SDSU 200 Medley Relay team to a win. Vincent's performance earned her Mountain West Co-Swimmer of the Week.
