COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State volleyball's Tamia Reeves has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for a pair of spectacular performances in home matches vs. UNLV and New Mexico.

With her award, the Aztec senior garnered conference weekly accolades for the first time in career and the team's second of the season after Camryn Machado received defensive recognition on Sept. 2.

A native of Carrollton, Texas, Reeves recorded a dazzling .667 hitting percentage last week, knocking down 19 kills with just one error in 27 attempts. The SDSU middle blocker averaged 3.19 points and 2.38 kills in eight sets played, helping the Aztecs earn a split with the Rebels and Lobos. She also displayed her versatility with nine total blocks, two digs and a service ace.

Against UNLV last Thursday, Reeves launched 9 kills in 13 swings without an error, finishing with a season-best .692 clip, which also marks the SDSU's team-high for the year.  She also added a season-high five blocks, including a solo stop, although the Aztecs dropped a four-set decision.

On Saturday, Reeves came back with a 10-kill effort against the Lobos, hitting at a .643 pace to help the Scarlet and Black capture a 3-1 victory. She totaled just one error on a season-high 14 attempts and also contributed four blocks and one ace.

With her accomplishments, Reeves has taken over the top spot in the conference with a .398 hitting percentage and ranks third on the squad with 111 kills for the season (1.98/set).

In addition, Reeves has committed one error or less in nine matches this year, with SDSU posting a 6-3 record in such contests. The Aztecs are also 3-1 on the season when she totals at least 10 kills.

Reeves and San Diego State will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 10, when they travel to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains to battle Wyoming. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. MT/5:30 p.m. PT.
