SAN DIEGO – San Diego State swimming and diving's sophomore diver Ximena Lechuaga Gonzalez earned Mountain West Diver of the Week for the week ending October 20.
Gonzalez was the highlight of an incredible double-dual meet for the Aztecs, taking home first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions when SDSU took on Boise St. and Pepperdine Friday, Oct. 18. Her 3-meter score of 333.20 is not only the best score for a MW diver in the past week but the top effort seen in the conference all season. Additionally, her 1-meter score of 302.30 was the top performance seen in the league last week. Both performances led the Aztecs to a 150-134 win over Boise St. and a 207-80 victory over Pepperdine.
The Aztecs' next competition is Nov. 22-24 at the Northern Arizona Diving Invitational in Flagstaff, Ariz.
