LAS VEGAS – San Diego State head men's basketball coach Brian Dutcher and players Matt Mitchell and Malachi Flynn attended the 2019-20 Mountain West Basketball Media Day on Tuesday.  The predicted order of finish and preseason awards were revealed.  Check out the video for a "behind the scenes" look at the day.

PREDICTED ORDER OF FINISH AND PRESEASON AWARDS FROM MW MEDIA DAY
The Aztecs were picked to finish second in the preseason poll of the media that regularly cover the conference.  The Mountain West media saw the same things that CBS Sports Network, and Street & Smith Yearbooks saw, as it relates to the 2019-20 SDSU team, both of those outlets also had San Diego State picked to finish second in the conference.

SDSU has finished either first or second in the Mountain West preseason poll in each of the last six years. It is also the 11th time in the 21 seasons the Mountain West has been in existence that San Diego State has been picked first or second in the poll. All 11 times have occurred in the last 15 years.

The same media group predicted Flynn to be the league's Newcomer of the Year after everything is said and done in March.

A junior transfer from Washington State who sat out last season due to NCAA Transfer Rules, Flynn averaged 15.8 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game in his final season playing in the Pac-12 and has two years eligibility remaining.

The Aztecs return six of their top nine scorers off a team that posted a 21-13 record and advanced to the championship game of the Mountain West Conference tournament in 2019.
