COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – San Diego State's Puwit Anupansuebsai (Nakhon Phanom, Thailand) earned a spot on the all-Mountain West men's golf team for his performance during the 2018-19 campaign, as announced Friday by the league office.
With his award, the Aztec sophomore garners his first career all-conference accolade and gives SDSU at least one all-MW selection for the 18th consecutive year.
Anupansuebsai, who made a team-high nine starts during the season, led the Aztecs with a 72.48 scoring average while posting 11 rounds below par, including five in the 60s to top the squad.
Anupansuebsai was the team's No. 1 golfer in three events, highlighted by a pair of eighth-place finishes at SDSU's own Lamkin San Diego Classic, March 11-12, and the Mountain West Championship, April 26-28.
At the conference tournament, Anuapansuebsai registered his lowest score in relation to par as a collegian with an 8-under 208, which is tied for third on the Aztecs' all-time charts in a MW championship. He also carded a season-best 66 in the final round of the Western Intercollegiate on April 17.
As a team, San Diego State closed out its season with a fifth-place finish at the Mountain West Championship.
