SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State returns to action after a nine-day break Tuesday night when it welcomes California Baptist at SDSU Softball Stadium. First pitch between the Aztecs (19-22) and Lancers (21-26) is 6 p.m. PT.
 
It will be the final non-conference game of the season for SDSU, which is coming off a series win over San José State from April 12-14, and its first meeting with CBU.
 
Taylor Adams continues to pace the San Diego State offense, leading the team in average (.364), hits (44), home runs (4) and slugging percentage (.512). Shelby Thompson (.314, 2 HR, 16 RBI, 7 2B, 15 BB, .395 OB%) and Kelsey Munoz (.303, 3 HR, 21 RBI, 9 2B) are also hitting over .300 for the Aztecs, while Kiera Wright (.276) leads the team in runs (25) and stolen bases (19-for-19).
 
The right-handed trio of Marissa Moreno (8-9, 3.48 ERA, 2 SV, 110.2 IP), Alicia Garcia (8-6, 4.02 ERA, 76.2 IP) and MJ James (3-7, 5.07 ERA, 88.1 IP) have done the bulk of the pitching for SDSU.
 
California Baptist enters Tuesday with a 21-26 record after sweeping Utah Valley last weekend at home.
 
Halle Rosario (.341, 4 HR, 21 RBI, 15 BB, .415 OB%), Caitlyn Lloyd (.339, 6 HR, 21 RBI, 21 R, .414 OB%), Brittany Galvez (.331, 6 HR, 17 RBI, 18 R) and Anise Avalos (.313, 5 HR, 15 RBI, 18 R) are all batting over .300 for the Lancers.
 
Kellye Springstead leads the CBU pitching staff in all major categories, going 18-14 with a 2.31 ERA in 197 innings. She has completed 23 of her 28 starts with five shutouts, striking out 144 against 47 walks and limiting the opposition to a .243 average. Giana Lopez (3-9, 4.05 ERA, 91.2 IP) and Sydney Truett (0-3, 4.30 ERA, 29.1 IP) have also contributed in the circle.
 
Following the Tuesday night clash, San Diego State head to first-place Colorado State for a Wednesday series, beginning 4 p.m. PT Friday.
