San Diego State Travels to Long Beach State for Final Tournament of Season
San Diego State plays in its final tournament of the regular season this weekend at the Louisville Slugger Invitational in Long Beach, Calif.
Hosted by Long Beach State, the Aztecs (10-9) are slated to play Robert Morris at 2 p.m. PT Thursday, Boston Univ. (9 a.m. PT) and Liberty (11:30 a.m. PT) on Friday, and Ohio Univ. (9 a.m. PT) and host Long Beach State (11:30 a.m. PT) on Saturday.
SDSU takes a 10-9 record into the tournament, most recently falling to Florida Gulf Coast, 9-0, in six innings at home on Tuesday night.
San Diego State, which is hitting .258 as a team, has five players hitting over .300 (min. 10 at-bats), including Maddi Ayers (.368), Kelsey Munoz (.310, 2 HR, 11 RBI), Molly Sturdivant (.309), Taylor Adams (.306, 8 RBI) and Kiera Wright (.302, 15 R, 9 SB).
Marissa Moreno leads a pitching staff that has posted a 4.49 ERA on the season by going 5-3 and a save with a 3.65 ERA, two shutouts, three complete games and 50 strikeouts, while pitching in 15 of the team's 19 games. Moreno ranks second in the Mountain West in strikeouts, tied for second in saves, third in innings pitched and fifth in wins.

Following the weekend, SDSU plays host to UC Riverside on March 13, before kicking off Mountain West play with a home weekend series against New Mexico from March 15-17.
