ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.  – San Diego State baseball was unable to complete a sweep of New Mexico on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Lobos 13-4 at Santa Ana Star Field. SDSU drops to 13-9 (4-3 Mountain West) on the year, while UNM jumps above .500 to 12-11 (4-5 MW).

The Aztecs jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning, using a leadoff single by Angelo Armenta and a Joe Fitzhugh double to give the Aztecs runners at second and third with two outs. Mike Jarvis drove in both Fitzhugh and Armenta on a double to left before later coming around to score on a RBI single by Jaden Fein.

Unfortunately for SDSU, the Lobos immediately responded with a four-run, four-hit bottom half of the fourth to take a 4-3 lead. The Lobos also posted a four-run sixth and a four-run seventh to distance themselves from the Aztecs in the middle stages of the game.
Casey Schmitt was dealt the loss on the mound, while New Mexico's Brian Coffey earned the win.
