TRENDING UP: After posting a 5-6 record through the season's first 11 games, the Aztecs have shown signs of improvement with three wins in their last four games. Over the last four games, the Aztec pitching staff has recorded an impressive 2.92 earned run average and a 2.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

SERIES HISTORY WITH THE REDHAWKS: The Aztecs and Redhawks haven't played in over 56 years, with the only all-time meeting happening on March 30, 1953 with the Aztecs winning a 15-inning thriller, 13-12, in the NCAA District 8 Playoffs in Los Angeles.

AGAINST THE WAC: The Aztecs have previously played seven of the current 10 members in the WAC, and hold records of .500 or better against all seven of those opponents. Combined, SDSU is 37-22 against current members of the WAC.

IT'S BEEN BUSY AT TONY GWYNN STADIUM: The Aztecs end a run of 16 home games in an 18-game span after this weekend. It is the most home games to start a season since playing 18 of their first 20 at home in 2011.

The Aztecs will cap the month with five consecutive home games from March 25-31, before opening April which features 13 road games against six home games.

THE STARTING PITCHING: Through the first 15 games of the season, SDSU starting pitching has recorded a 2.79 earned run average and .208 opponent batting average.

ANGELO ARMENTA: In the midst of a 10-game hitting streak, graduate transfer shortstop Angelo Armenta has been the most consistent piece of the Aztec lineup through 14 games. Armenta is hitting .441 over his 10-game hitting streak and on the season, Armenta is 24th in the country with 17 walks and 19th in the country with a .557 on-base percentage. Armenta's on-base percentage also stands as the best among MW players.

WHERE WE RANK IN THE MW: The Aztecs are the only team in the Mountain West to be hitting .280 or better while having an ERA under 4.50.

In the individual leaderboards, Angelo Armenta is sixth in the league in batting average (.392), 10th in slugging percentage (.543), and first in on base percentage (.557). Julian Escobedo stands seventh in the league with 16 RBIs while Brian Leonhardt is tied for second in in the conference with seven doubles.
