NEW ORLEANS – San Diego State pole vaulter Bonnie Draxler was one of ten student-athletes named to the prestigious Bowerman Mid-Indoor Watch List, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Wednesday.
Draxler set a SDSU and Mountain West indoor pole vault record last weekend, clearing 14-10.00 (4.52m) at the New Mexico Collegiate Challenge. Her mark is the tenth best in NCAA indoor history and beat her previous school record by over six inches. She currently has the top mark in the nation.
Draxler is just the second Aztec to receive this honor (Shanieka Thomas, triple jump, 2014).
The next Watch List will be released on February 27.
