SAN DIEGO – Head men's soccer coach Lev Kirshner has released the Aztecs' 2019 spring schedule. SDSU will play nine matches, seven at home, in a seven week span. Their spring slate is highlighted by a match-up with Club Tijuana Xolos March 13 on the Sports Deck on Montezuma Road.
SDSU will begin their spring schedule when they host the Xolos of Liga MX on March 13 for their annual friendly spring match.
On March 17, the Aztecs will play a pair of matches in Northridge, Calif. At 2:00 p.m., they take on the host school CSUN and then will face Cal State Los Angeles.
On March 24, SDSU heads north to face Loyola Marymount for a 5:00 p.m. match. This was originally scheduled for March 2 at SDSU but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The remainder of the Aztecs' spring games will be played on the Sports Deck on Montezuma Road. On March 30, the Aztecs will face a pair of local schools. First, they face off against Cal State San Marcos at 10:00 a.m. and then later that evening they will host Point Loma Nazarene.
On April 13, it will be another home doubleheader with matches against the University of San Diego (10:00 a.m.) and the Air Force Academy (12:00 p.m.).
The Aztecs' final match of the spring season will be April 20 at home against UC San Diego (7:00 p.m.).
SDSU will return eight starters from the 2018 season including captain Pablo Pelaez, a two-time all-Pac-12 honoree. The Aztecs also boast a highly-regarded recruiting class that is ranked No. 13 in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer.
