SCENESETTER
* Following a stretch of three games in three days in Maui, San Diego State returns to action for its first game in six days when the Aztecs play host to Jackson State on Tuesday at Viejas Arena.
 
* The game marks the annual Nike N7 game for San Diego State. This marks the fifth straight season that SDSU has taken part in the event that celebrates Native American Heritage Month. The Aztecs will wear turquoise uniforms on Tuesday.
 
* The Aztecs are playing their third opponent from the SWAC this season, having recorded victories over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Texas Southern.
 
*The Aztecs are 8-0 in program history against current members of the SWAC.
 
*SDSU has won eight consecutive home games and own a 16-2 in its last 18 home games played at Viejas Arena.
 
*San Diego State is now 12-3 in its last 15 games - regardless of location - dating back to last season.

* San Diego State falls to 3-2 on the season. Its two losses, to Duke and Iowa State, have come against teams that are a combined 10-1 (pending Duke-Gonzaga outcome) this season.
 
* San Diego State struggled offensively today, setting season lows for points (57), field goals (18), field goal percentage (35.3 percent), free throws (14) and free throws attempted (17). Despite that, at the end of the game KenPom still had SDSU rated the adjusted offense as 68th nationally. If the Aztecs ended the season with that ranking it would be the school's highest ranking since 2010-11 NCAA Sweet 16 team finished 28th in the country.
 
*San Diego State's streak of 10 consecutive wins against teams not ranked in the AP Top 25 at game time came to an end. Iowa State is receiving top 25 votes in both major pulls.

* San Diego State committed a season-low 11 turnovers, with the starting backcourt of Devin Watson and Jeremy Hemsley only accounting for two of those turnovers.
 
* This is the first time in the Brian Dutcher era that SDSU has lost a game after playing the previous day. The Aztecs entered the contest with a 4-0 record dating back to the start of last season.
