COLUMBIA, Mo. – The San Diego State swimming and diving team finished action at the Mizzou Invitational on Saturday, placing third. The Aztecs totaled 636 points, trailing only first-place Missouri (1,171) and second-place Arkansas (714).
Alma Thormalm recorded the second-fastest 100 free time in school history, using a third-place time of 48.81. In the next race, Alma's sister, Klara, finished third place in the 200 breast, recording the third-fastest time in school history at 2:11.72.
Kristina Murphy finished just behind Thormalm in the 200 breast, posting a time of 2:12.57 for fourth place -- good for fourth best in school history. Morganne McKennan also climbed up the SDSU record book, using a time of 2:13.97 to record the fifth fastest time in school history.
Courtney Vincent set a new career-best and posted the fifth fastest 200 breast time in Aztec history, posting a time of 1:59.59 to finish the race in a tie for second and just .32 seconds behind first-place finisher in Missouri's Azra Avdic.
Lizzie Menzmer placed ninth in the race at 2:02.57 -- the ninth fastest time in SDSU history.
The Aztecs concluded the day with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay, using a time of 3:19.98. Lizzie Menzmer, Alma Thormalm, Peyton Wilson and Vincent teamed up on the time that stands as ninth fastest in school history.
The Aztecs now look ahead to a home dual meet against Pepperdine, scheduled for Nov. 30 at 3:00 p.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex.
