FRESNO, Calif.  – The San Diego State swimming and diving team continued a successful performance at the Chick-fil-A Invitational hosted by Fresno State on Saturday morning, finishing the two-day meet in second place with 963 points, 476 points ahead of third-place finisher Fresno State. Last year's national runner-up, California, took first place in the meet, claiming 1250 points over the two-day event.
 
McKenna Meyer shined in the 1650 free, taking home first place with a time of 17:20.42 – close to nine seconds faster than second-place finisher Ryan Falk from Washington State. Mia Ryan and Julia Wright also recorded top-five times in the race, logging times of 17:52.67 and 17:53.78, respectively.
 
The Aztecs also recorded the two best times in the 200 breast, with freshman Kristina Murphy and sophomore Klara Thormalm finishing neck-and-neck with times of 2:16.92 and 2:16.97, respectively.
 
Elli Ferrin, Klara Thormalm, Courtney Vincent, and Cathy Cooper started off the Aztecs' day with a fifth-place finish in the 400 yard medley relay, posting a time of 3:52.62.
 
Alma Thormalm was SDSU's top finisher in the 100 free, placing third with a time of 51.00.
 
The day finished with SDSU logging a third-place time in the 400 free relay. Alma Thormalm, Klara Thormalm, Meyer, and Lizzie Menzmer contributed a time of 3:27.23 – finishing just fractions of a second behind California's second-place relay team, which touched the wall at 3:27.15.
