SAN DIEGO – Former all-Mountain West selection Lorrenzo Wade has returned to the men's basketball program as head manager, head coach Brian Dutcher announced. Wade returns to The Mesa as a full-time student to finish his undergraduate degree after completing his eligibility in 2008-09.

One of the top all-around players to wear an Aztec jersey at SDSU, Wade, who enjoyed a professional playing career overseas, ended his San Diego State career ranked 12th in points, seventh in blocks, 11th in assists, 11th in steals, 11th in free throws, 12th in field goals, 18th in rebounds and 21st in scoring average. He also finished seventh in conference victories (29), ninth in minutes played, 10th in victories (60) and 11th in games started.

Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, Wade was the school's 24th member of the 1,000-point club and finished with 1,200 points after transferring to San Diego State after one season at Louisville. During his time, SDSU won 20 or more games three straight seasons (68 wins total) and advanced to the NIT in each of those years. In 2008-09, he led the Aztecs to a then-school-record 26 victories and an NIT semifinal berth.

Individually, Wade was a three-time all-MW selection, earning honorable mention honors as a sophomore, first-team accolades as a junior and second-team recognition as a senior. He was also named to the 2009 MW all-tournament team and voted twice to the NABC All-District 17 squad (second team as a junior, first team as a senior).
