Aztec Storylines
FIRST WEEKEND OF CONFERENCE: San Diego State suffered a pair of losses in its first weekend of conference play, falling at home to Fresno State before dropping a road match at Air Force. Despite the pair of setbacks, Hannah Turnlund recorded a team-best 3.00 kills per set for the weekend, while Tamia Reeves posted a team-best .375 hitting percentage. Sam McGrath provided the Aztecs with a strong defensive effort, averaging an impressive 5.17 digs per set last weekend.  In her first action of the 2018 season, Gabi Peoples posted 10 assists per set.

Reeves' .375 hitting percentage was the ninth best in the conference last weekend, while McGrath was second in the league with her 5.17 digs per set.

SDSU's loss against Fresno State snapped an eight-match home winning streak against the Bulldogs, which dated back to the 1999 season.

TOUGH ROAD SO FAR: As of Tuesday, SDSU's 13 opponents during the 2018 season own a collective 108-73 (.597) record. Of those 13 previous opponents, 11 currently have records of .500 or better. Both Colorado State and Wyoming enter the second week of conference play with records of 10-4 including 2-0 marks in MW play.

SUCCESS AT HOME: The Aztecs are 26-17 (.605) in their last 43 matches at Peterson Gym. SDSU has won seven of its last nine home meetings against Wyoming.

WHAT'S AHEAD: SDSU begins a stretch of three matches in five days on Thursday, where all three teams SDSU faces are opponents which have either been ranked or have received votes in the AVCA national rankings at one point during the 2018 season. After SDSU hosts Colorado State and Wyoming this weekend, SDSU hosts crosstown foe San Diego next Tuesday. It will be the 30th consecutive season where the Aztecs and Toreros have played each other.

RELYING ON THE RETURNERS: Despite SDSU's roster being divided evenly between 10 returners and 10 newcomers, 80 percent of SDSU's kill total (570 of 707) has come from returning players. Defensively, 66.1 percent of SDSU's dig total (479 of 724) has come from returning players.
