SAN DIEGO - San Diego State had four of its water polo student-athletes, as well as the program itself, earn academic recognition from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC). SDSU has now had at least four individual honorees for 10 consecutive seasons.

Meanwhile, soon-to-be senior Hannah Carrillo and Shelby Kraft, who just completed her sophomore campaign earned spots on the Excellent Team, which comprises of student-athletes with GPAs in the 3.40-3.20 range.

Bilz picked up her second career award after collecting an Excellent Team appointment in 2017. For the rest of the trio, the honor is the first of their careers.

As for the team itself, the 2018 Aztecs had a cumulative GPA of 3.03. For its performance in the classroom, the program was one of 54 across all NCAA divisions recognized by the ACWPC.
