SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State swimming and diving team will be in action Friday morning, serving host to Cal Poly and Air Force for a double dual meet at the Aztec Aquaplex at 11:00 a.m. SDSU looks to extend its dual meet winning streak to 21.
The Aztecs are ending a three-week break from competition, as the team most recently topped UC San Diego (157-132) and Pepperdine (189-90) in a double dual meet on Dec. 1. The Aztecs have defeated all six of its dual meet opponent this season, in addition to a first-place finish in the A3 Invitational on Nov. 18.
Alexandra Caplan was named Mountain West Diver of the Week for the seventh time in her four-year career for her efforts against Pepperdine and UCSD on Dec. 1. The senior posted a pair of NCAA-Zone-qualifying scores with a 325.20 in one-meter action and a 315.15 in three-meter competition.
McKenna Meyer has been one of the top performers in the MW this season, owning B-cut times in the 500 free (4:45.89 at A3 Invitational), 200 IM (2:00.51 at A3 Invitational) and 400 IM (4.12.46 at A3 Invitational). Meyer's time in the 400 IM is the best in the Mountain West this season.
Other B-cut times include Elli Ferrin in the 100 back (54.55), Summer Harrison and Courtney Vincent in the 100 fly (53.88 and 54.42, respectively), and Frida Berggren in the 200 fly (1:59.32) and 200 IM (2:00.93).
Following Friday's event, the Aztecs will take a one-week break for the holidays before hosting Oregon State on Dec. 30.
