The Big Notes
* San Diego State improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1975 and for just the second time in the last 47 seasons.
* The Aztecs won all of their non-conference games (UC Davis, at Arizona State, No. 19/19 Stanford and Northern Illinois) in the same season for the first time since 1981.
* At No. 19, this was the highest-ranked SDSU team to win a game since a win as the 16th-ranked team at San Jose State on Nov. 21, 1977.
* San Diego State won its second straight game as a nationally ranked team for the first time since 1970.
* Tomorrow, the Aztecs are expected to be nationally ranked for a third straight week for the first time since the final three polls of the 1977 campaign.
* SDSU won its seventh consecutive game dating back to last year, and is 13-2 in its last 15 games and 26-3 in its last 29 contests.
* San Diego State's 26-3 record over its last 29 games (since Oct. 3, 2015) is the third best in the country over that span, only trailing Alabama (30-1) and Clemson (30-2).
* The Aztecs have put together at least a five-game winning streak for the third consecutive season. The last time SDSU had three straight seasons with at least a five-game winning streak was a four-year stretch from 1974-77.
* San Diego State improved to 13-1 in its last 14 home games.
* The Aztecs won their eighth straight game played during the month of September.

Rashaad Penny

* Recorded his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season and the 10th of his career.
* With five 100-yard games to open the season, he became the first to accomplish the feat since Marshall Faulk in 1992.
* His 10 100-yard rushing games rank as the 10th most in SDSU history.
* All 10 of his 100-yard rushing games have come in his last 15 games. During that span, he has rushed for 1,653 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns.
* This marks just the seventh time in school history that SDSU player has produced five consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
* Penny became the fifth player in school history to record at least five consecutive 100-yard rushing games (also Donnel Pumphrey (three times), Marshall Faulk, George Jones and Ronnie Hillman).

The Series

* San Diego State improved to 6-0 all-time in the series with Northern Illinois and 3-0 in games played in San Diego.
* The Aztecs improved to 12-0-1 against current members of the Mid-American Conference.
* SDSU improved to 7-0-1 against teams that were members of the MAC at the time of the game.

Team Notes

* The Aztecs have 19 non-offensive touchdowns since 2015 (two tonight). SDSU ranked third in FBS since 2015 with 17 coming into tonight.
* San Diego State has six interception returns for touchdowns since 2016 (19 games), 10 since 2015 (33 games) and 16 in the Rocky Long defensive coordinator era (since 2009).

* Was 10 for 19 passing for 136 yards and two touchdowns.
* Improved to 18-3 as the starting quarterback over his career, the highest winning percentage in SDSU's Division I era (since 1969) (min. 15 starts).
* Recorded his fourth straight game without interception and now has thrown 87 passes without throwing an interception (six touchdowns over that span).
* Now has seven touchdown passes this season (against one interception) and 29 for his career (against eight interceptions).

* The four tackles for loss were the most by an Aztec since Calvin Munson had four at San Jose State on Oct. 17, 2015.
* The three sacks were the most by an Aztec since Kyle Kelley had 3.5 vs. Cincinnati in the Hawai'i Bowl on Dec. 24, 2015.

* Parker Baldwin, Jr., S (11 tackles)
* Led the team with 11 tackles.
* Has 24 tackles in his last two games after a career-high 13 at Air Force last week.
